Spellbook Alternative —
Confidential Contract AI.
Standalone web app and OpenAI-compatible API for contract AI. No Word add-in lock-in. Hardware-sealed in Intel TDX, EU-controlled.
Plans from $20/month.
Why look elsewhere
Three reasons firms ask about alternatives.
Word-only is a constraint, not a feature
Spellbook is a Microsoft Word add-in. That works for firms that draft entirely inside Word. It does not work when the document arrives as a DOCX in iManage, the partner reviews on iPad in PDF, and the redline gets shared back as track-changes via email. The standalone web app handles all of these without a Word add-in dependency.
Azure OpenAI sits in US legal process
Spellbook runs on Azure OpenAI. Microsoft's commercial terms include EU Data Boundary commitments, but the underlying inference is on infrastructure subject to US law and to Microsoft's sub-processor disclosures. For European firms with strict transfer-mechanism analysis, that creates documentation friction.
No hardware-sealed enclave
Spellbook, like Harvey, runs on standard cloud VMs. The hypervisor and host operator are inside the trust boundary. There is no Intel TDX layer. VoltageGPU's entire confidentiality argument rests on an enclave architecture that excludes the cloud operator from the trust domain.
Form factors
Three ways to use the agent.
Web app at /contract
Drop a contract, get a structured memo. PDF, DOCX, TXT input. PDF export. Works anywhere a browser does.
OpenAI-compatible API
Drop-in replacement for OpenAI client libraries. Pro and Enterprise plans. Plug into iManage, NetDocuments, custom Word add-ins, or your own DMS.
DOCX in, DOCX out
The web app accepts DOCX uploads and returns redlined DOCX exports — keeping the partner's preferred review format intact.

FAQ
Frequently asked questions.
Can I integrate VoltageGPU into Microsoft Word today?
Yes, via the OpenAI-compatible API and an Office Scripts or VBA wrapper. Several Pro customers run a custom Word add-in pointed at the VoltageGPU API endpoint. A first-party Word add-in is on the roadmap for Q4 2026.
Will my Spellbook playbook work?
Pro and Enterprise plans accept a custom playbook PDF or markdown file as system-prompt extension. Most Spellbook playbooks (IACCM-style clause expectations, firm redline standards, anti-templates) port over with minor reformatting. We can help with the migration on Enterprise.
Is the contract data really invisible to VoltageGPU?
Yes. Inference happens inside an Intel TDX enclave where AES-256 memory encryption keys are fused into the CPU at boot. The hypervisor and host operating system are excluded from the trust domain. VoltageGPU operators cannot read prompts even if compelled — the keys do not exist outside the silicon. Each session can produce an ECDSA attestation report verifiable against Intel root of trust.
